In the days of yore, a ruthless breed of men terrorized the northern European coastline, attacking, pillaging, burning villages, stealing and destroying food and crops, raping and robbing women of their sexual independence killing everything in their path.  Recently, in the past 150 years or so, a new breed of invader has found its way into our daily lives spreading war, resource exploitation, malnutrition, disease, all the while intimidating local townspeople into submission with thinly-veiled threats of economic starvation.  This new terror doesn't cross the North Sea and sack villages in Europe, nor does it have big horned hats and dragon headed watercraft.  No, the new threat to civilization is from the people who inhabit the halls of business and government - the CEO's are the new Viking, plundering the nations of the global south and even here at home in America.  But this time the Vikings have a new strategy... instead of brutality and force, they maintain their power through propaganda.  TV and movies; newspapers and magazines; and now even the internet are full of ads and opinions that reflect the corporate lie.   That is that you need them to make your life OK - that with this or that corporation, everything would fall apart.  Don't let them colonize your mind with the corporate lie,  there is an alternative.   Read, think, and learn about ways to reduce your dependence on corporations.  Support unions and organizations working for a more sane world and stop the Vikings before its too late.
